Located conveniently close to the airport, Giljanes Hostel provides a great base for travelers exploring the Faroe Islands. With its helpful owner Christian, guests can expect friendly service and assistance. The hostel offers a variety of facilities such as hot water, washing and dryer machines, and a large kitchen/common room, where visitors can socialize and plan their next adventure. Additionally, the bus accommodation provides breathtaking views and is surprisingly comfortable, even in colder weather.
Competition for some facilities can be fierce at times.

I recently stayed at Giljanes for a few days while exploring Vágar island. The location was perfect, close to the airport and within walking distance to a supermarket and gas station. The hostel itself was clean and comfortable, with a spacious kitchen and dining area. I loved the added bonus of seeing sheep outside my window and a friendly cat roaming around. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, providing great advice for exploring the Faroe Islands.
I do recommend this hotel.

He were very good too ensure that we had everything we needed, even helping me retrieve my lost tripod and sending it back to Scotland. The hostel was always kept clean, despite being crowded at times. We also appreciated the consideration given to older guests by prioritizing their sleeping arrangements. The proximity to the airport was convenient for our early flight, and we were able to park our rental car. The common areas were cozy and comfortable, and we enjoyed the cute view of the water from our room.
we weren't aware that we had to pay for linen in the rooms, a surprise.

We had a wonderful stay at this hostel on Vagar island. The owner, Kristjan, was incredibly helpful and accessible, even when he wasn't on the island. The kitchen facilities were great, with plenty of fridges and hobs to cook with. The sitting area was cozy and comfortable. The hostel is in a beautiful location, with great views of the bay. It's only a 9-minute drive to the airport and there are outstanding hiking trails nearby.
The bunk beds in the dorms did not have rails or ladders, making it difficult to get in and out.

During my Christmas stay, I really enjoyed the cozy and welcoming atmosphere of the hostel. The common area was a great place to meet and interact with fellow guests, and it was refreshing to see people engaging in conversation instead of being glued to their phones. Additionally, the hostel's location near the picturesque bay was a key selling point for me, offering beautiful scenery right on the doorstep. Moreover, the value for money was excellent, and the owner, who made sure to make guests feel at home, was a highlight of the experience.
One downside I encountered during my stay was the small size of the rooms. When all four beds were occupied, it felt a bit cramped, leaving little space to move around.

We had a fantastic stay here! The late check-in was easy, and the host was very accommodating. The hostel had free parking and offered fine ocean views. It was easy to find with Google Maps and conveniently located near the airport. We appreciated the option to rent a car or use public transportation, and the check-out process was simple with payment by credit card. The hostel also provided facilities for those who wanted to stay with a tent.
Hard to think of anything.
